The Underwater Communication and Navigation System improved safety, enabling data exchange between dive teams and the surface, real-time monitoring of positions and progress, and synchronization of location data. The system reduced risks in extreme environments, allowing safe return to marked locations even if separated. The surface terminal could issue real-time instructions and recall divers in emergencies.
