Underwater archaeologists used Underwater Communication and Navigation System during the underwater archaeological investigation and excavation of a Yuan Dynasty shipwreck site in Holy Grail Island, Zhangzhou. The system and related operations were featured in the CCTV documentary "Exploration · Discovery | Archaeology in Progress Season 1 Zhangzhou Yuan Dynasty Shipwreck Underwater Archaeology" and 'Live Story' Episode 4: Out of the Water.
