Industry Leading | Ocean Plan’s Ultra-Short Baseline Underwater Positioning and Communication System P200 Series

Table of Content [Hide]

As the national strategy of building a ‘Strong Maritime Nation’ advances, the application of underwater equipment is expanding from traditional, limited domains into broader, more cutting-edge, and more complex fields. This trend places higher demands on the leadership and autonomy of domestic Ultra-Short Baseline (USBL) underwater positioning and communication technology.

To achieve stable and reliable data communication in complex marine environments and accurately deliver critical data such as underwater relative distance and direction-finding information, Ocean Plan has launched the next-generation ultra-short baseline underwater positioning and communication system—the P200 Series.

Integrating leading underwater acoustic positioning and communication technologies, the P200 Series employs efficient signal processing algorithms and an innovative compact structural design. It offers advantages such as domestically developed technology, lightweight construction, omnidirectional direction-finding capability, and high integration. The system is compatible with light-duty, professional, and offshore engineering ROVs, as well as high-speed autonomous underwater platforms such as AUVs and underwater gliders. It can also adapt to various long-term deployment equipment such as buoys and submerged buoys, further expanding the capabilities of underwater equipment.

    | Domestically Developed

As an independently developed domestic system, the P200 Series ensures that critical technologies remain free from foreign constraints while providing continuous, rapid local support for application adaptation, on-site integration, testing, and maintenance.

    | Full Direction-Finding

The P200 Series features industry-leading omnidirectional direction-finding capability, expanding the high-precision positioning angle from the internationally mainstream 60–90° to a higher level of ‘vertical omnidirectional + horizontal omnidirectional,’ further meeting the demands of highly mobile underwater operations.

    | Rapid Deployment

Without the need for complex surface preparation, the P200 Series is ready for immediate use and supports quick installation and deployment, significantly improving underwater operational efficiency.

    | High Integration

Through a highly integrated design, the P200 Series eliminates the need to switch between positioning and communication modes, allowing positioning data to be simultaneously calculated during acoustic transmission.

    | High Precision

The P200 Series utilizes the most advanced broadband spread spectrum technology and target tracking algorithms, enabling real-time positioning, tracking, and communication with multiple underwater targets simultaneously. With a direction-finding accuracy of ±1.5°, it achieves high-precision positioning tracking, providing stable and reliable underwater positioning technology support.

    | Low Power Consumption

The P200 Series delivers extended battery life while maintaining high performance, making it suitable for long-term underwater operations.

As a leading USBL communication and positioning system, the P200 Series successfully overcomes the limitations of traditional direction-finding technology, achieving a breakthrough with its pioneering full-direction-finding core technology. With its full-dimensional, dead-angle-free direction-finding and positioning capability, it is suitable for a wide range of complex marine operation scenarios, including shallow and deep-sea environments. The system provides reliable positioning and communication support for underwater equipment in various observation tasks such as offshore oil and gas infrastructure construction, pipeline inspection, offshore wind power facility inspection, hydraulic dam inspection, ship and bridge structural inspections, offshore engineering structural condition monitoring, marine ranch construction and operation, and underwater ecological monitoring.
