From September 21 to 22, the 2025 New Area & New Quality Innovation Competition National Finals were successfully held in Qingdao West Coast New Area. As China’s first national-level professional competition focusing on the development of "new Areas and new qualities," the event—under the theme "Intelligence Converging New Areas, Wisdom Empowering New Qualities"—attracted 770 cutting-edge technological projects from 31 provinces and cities across the country. The competition covered five core tracks: High-end Instruments and Manufacturing Equipment, Artificial Intelligence, Network Information, Unmanned Systems, and Aerospace, with exceptionally fierce competition.
This year’s competition featured dual tracks—"Free Exploration" and "Demand-driven Challenges"—and two major categories: "University Faculty & Student Group" and "Innovative Enterprise Group." It built an integrated platform encompassing education, science & technology, talent, industry, finance, and government, aiming to promote the transformation of scientific achievements, discover outstanding technological talent and teams, and comprehensively achieve the goals of "promoting innovation, transformation, and integration through competition."
In this event, Ocean Plan stood out from over 230 high-quality enterprise projects with its core project, the "Frogman Underwater Communication and Positioning System," winning the Outstanding Award in the Innovative Enterprise Category. The company’s founder, Mr. Ma Kui, was interviewed by several authoritative media outlets, where he shared in depth the company’s technological breakthroughs and innovation philosophy.
At the concurrent Innovation Achievement Exhibition, Ocean Plan showcased the core products of its Frogman Underwater Communication and Positioning System, attracting numerous industry experts for technical exchanges. Shan Zhongde, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, as well as Administrator of the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, personally visited Ocean Plan’s booth. He learned in detail about the product’s technological innovations, application scenarios, and future potential, and highly praised Ocean Plan’s achievements in advancing innovation in the "new Area and new quality" direction.
The concept of "New Area and New Quality" represents strategic emerging fields arising from a new round of scientific and industrial revolutions. Continuous breakthroughs in key technologies such as underwater communication and positioning are providing strong support for national maritime security, economic development, and civil-military integration, injecting powerful momentum into the construction of a strong maritime nation.
