Daxing Jiudun skylight is located at the foot of a mountain at valley edge of Jiudun slope around Jiudun Tun, Jiudun Village, Daxing Town, lies in the upper reaches of the Chengjiang river basin, develops from the carbonate formation of lower two Permian Tong Mao Kou formation and Qixia formation: It iscomposed of four skylights which are inclined skylights, its mouth is slightly round with the diameter of 13.5-25.7m, the skylight depth is greater than 35m (without water depth), and the water depth is greater than 100m. The overflowing quantity of the skylight in normal period and high-water period is large between 0.7 and 4m'/s, the overflow has converged into Jiudun Lakes, which is broad, presenting 'two ends big, middle fine', with 175m long, 23-108.5m wide and water depth of 10~30m, during the rainy season, the flood up-wells and overflows, flooding the valley, it is one of the main sources of Chengiiang, known as the Chinese underwater Mount Qomolangma. On 23 March, 2015, team leader Richard Harris and his teammate David from Australia wet mule exploration team in Daxing Jiudun north cave dived to 212 meters, lasted 7.5 hours, which once again refreshed the Chinese cave-diving record.
